With my fascination with Greek and Roman Gods and stories, I wanted to make a tribute to Icarus. You may know the story. In short, an inventor made wings for his son, Icarus. The father warns Icarus not to fly to close to the sun. He doesn’t listen, and Icarus’ wings melt, therefore plunging to his death.

The story is one of ambition and moderation. An important one, for sure. However, I do like Wilde’s quote (seen above).

I like to think that light is an emanation of love itself. The metaphor that our desire to be pulled closer and closer to the light, blinds us. Annihilates us. The sun, the only reason our Earth can exist, is the only thing in the natural world that we cannot look at. Death by love, not a bad way to go out.
