“Flora Goddess” was inspired by my love of the Art Nouveau movement, specifically Alphonse Mucha. The whiplash curves, muted color palette, and over-flowing flowers to ornate the figure are all staples of Art Nouveau.
Flora is an ancient goddess of flowers, was said to bring in fertility and welcome spring.
This piece in particular reminds me to return to nature — and that nature is apart of us.
